Scat Counterweighted Crankshaft Forged 78.8mm VW Journal: Beetle (1960-1979), T2 Bay (1968-1979), Splitscreen (1960-1967)

Forged 4340 Chromoly Volksracer 78.8mm counterweighted crankshaft manufactured by Scat. The crank features VW rod journals, a straight shot oil system, ground to exact sizes, magnafluxed & dynamically balanced, 8 dowel pins included (unfitted), grooved main journals for better oil flow, 2mm radiused & chamfered oil holes. The crank is also nitrided for extra strength.

When more power is required a stroker crankshaft is the way to go. Increased piston velocity offers more power and torque. For most sizes of crankshaft your crankcase will need clearancing but the amount can be reduced by using Chevy diameter con rods which have a smaller big end than VW rods. Super race cases do not require any clearance work
