Front End Assembly for Model A Frame, Tube Axle Kit. These front suspension packages make it easier to begin transforming your Model A frame into a rolling chassis. Kits include a 3″ drop tube axle, 27″ radius rods, leaf spring and shackles. Kit works well with the SM300 Pro Shocks (shocks not included).

Front Spring-

Achieve a smoother, more comfortable ride with Speedway Super Glide™ springs for your 1928-1934 Ford front end! The ends of the spring leaves of a Super Glide™ spring have a unique nylon button which works as a dry lubricant to significantly reduce leaf-to-leaf friction. This allows the spring to move more easily, thereby giving a softer, quieter ride.

Spring Perch-

Works with 1928-34 Ford front ends with 1-3/4″ wide cross spring. Extra-long for lower shock mounts. Includes nylock nut.

  • 2-1/2″ from top of threads to mid-shoulder
  • 2-7/8″ from top of threads to top of shoulder
  • Thread length is 1-7/8″
  • 5/8″ fine thread
  • Distance from the top of the shoulder to the bottom of the threads is 4-3/4″
  • These are cut with a 1/8th inch keyway slot, but the key stock is not included.  This can be purchased at almost any hardware/home improvement stores.

Radius Rods-

These front radius rods are ideal for smaller or full-fendered cars. Rugged, 7/8″ O.D. steel tubing is threaded 5/8″-18 NF right hand at each end.

Designed to be used with batwings or axle brackets with a 5″ center to center bolt hole spacing on front tube or I-beam axles only. Not to be used for rear suspensions. Before installing the heim joints or clevis ends, the actual measurement will be center to center 4-1/2″. The angle of the tube will increase the measurement to 5″ after installing the end hardware.

Brackets-

Steel bracket attaches to axle with perch bolt. Plain steel finish.

  • Bracket plate width is 3/8″
  • Accepts a clevis with a 3/8″ slot and a 3/8″ hole
  • Fits 2-1/4″ boss or 2″ with spacer kit
  • 5″ from center-to-center for the radius rods

A beautiful clevis ideal for your Hot Rods’ suspension or build into your suspension system on your dirt track race car! Strong, zinc-plated steel construction to resist corrosion for years of use. 5/8-18″ RH threaded with a 3/8″ slot and 3/8″ hole.

Rod Ends-

These right hand standard rod ends are a general purpose, two-piece design. They have a carbon steel body and a hardened steel ball without a race (metal to metal contact).

Applications: Clutch, brake, steering linkage, & suspension components on moderate horsepower applications.

Assembly: To ease assembly, be sure to run a tap or die through the threads on chrome plated fasteners and apply an anti-seize compound to prevent galling of the threads.

Jam Nuts-

If you’ve got spherical rod ends on your vehicle, you’ll probably need jam nuts. You might also need them for tie-rod ends or other types of fittings and connectors. Our jam nuts are made from premium steel (zinc-coated for corrosion prevention), and they’re available with either right hand or left hand threads.

These steel fine thread jam nuts are for use with rod ends, heim joints, and clevis.

  • 5/8 Inch-18 NF Fine Thread
  • Sold in bags of six nuts.
  • Choose left or right thread.

Shackles-

  • Fits front or rear springs. All measurements are width of spring. All nylon bushed shackles are 1-1/2″ shackle bolt center to shackle bolt center.
  • Bushings are included. Bushing O.D. is 3/4″.
  • Update those worn out shackles and bushings on your hot rod and add some style with this chrome version
  • Chrome plated steel shackles fit a 1-3/4″ wide spring and have standard nylon bushings included
  • Measures 1-1/2″ center to center on the shackle bolts and bushings are 3/4″ O.D.

Shock Mounts-

New, FORGED steel lower shock mount design is stronger than the competition and incorporates a key slot to stop the rotation other brands suffer from. Machining of matching key slot into perch bolts may be required. Stud for the shock eye mount is 5/8″.

  • These are cut with a 1/8th inch keyway slot, but the key stock is not included.  This can be purchased at almost any hardware/home improvement stores.

Clevis Hardware-

Includes:

  • (4) 3/8″-24 X 1-1/4″ SAE Fine Thread Grade 5 Cap Screw
  • (4) 3/8″-24 Crush Lock Nut

U-Bolts-

These rugged 2-1/4″ x 3-1/4″ zinc plated U-bolts will securely attach the front or rear spring to the crossmember. Apply an anti-seize compound to ensure that the threads are not damaged upon assembly.
